The Cult of Self-Forgiveness

Ivan Rauscher

Occasionally, posts appear at the Equal Money Forum where non-Destonians ask reasonable questions, such as what would happen to those persons who do not comply with the global communo-fascist totalitarian police state that would be the Desteni 'Equal Money System' (EMS)?

In one of these posts called Connections, trees and documentaries a forum member called Ant writes:

I read your link on what will happen to the ones that resist and honestly I didn't see a clear concise answer. I understand that we can support those that resist to help them realise that equality is "best for all". However, as the old saying goes, "you can bring a horse to water but you can't make it drink." So what happens when the horse doesn't want to drink the equality water. If they do not accept and resist physically, do we use force to put them in rehabilitation support places? And if we have to use force how does that makes us any different from a dictatorship? I'm really curious to know how this would work because this is an issue that arises with many other well intentioned systems of governance out there.

The response supplied refers to a blog (discussed in The Desteni tools: Destonians) by one of the most fanatical Destonians there is, Lindsay Lee Craver, but it explains nothing about how EMS would function as a system, and nothing about how anyone resisting it would be rehabilitated.

Nazi eugenics poster

Apart from suggesting that dissenters will receive 'psychological support' to help them towards 'self-forgiveness' so they can be rehabilitated into EMS', another 'solution' to the perceived problem of those who will not co-operate with the 'system' is their wish to revive the pseudo-science of eugenics and thereby exterminate and/or sterilise disabled people and 'certain races'.

Desteni is based on Bernard Poolman's own peculiarly nihilistic re-interpretations of New Age philosophies, occultism and conspiracy theories. Destonians claim they are opposed to everything the New Age stands for but all their ideas and practices are just re-worked versions of New Age / occult philosophies.

Poolman and his fans, the Destonians, make a poor show of passing it all off as relevant to political or social issues by trying to criticise 'god', 'spirituality', 'enlightenment' etc as used in the New Age or occultism but at the same time substituting or confusing such words or concepts with slogans based around the word, 'equality', and preaching that the only way to release the world from the grip of the conspiracy of a reptilian capitalist elite is 'self-forgiveness' and 'equal money' -- that is, money for Desteni.

Destonians imagine their hero, Bernard Poolman is 'self-realised' and not at all how he appears to others: an amateur con man who has deliberately set out to form his own cult.

Destonians have fallen for the outright lie that Desteni represents equality and have become internet scammers on Poolman's behalf. They pay to work for his company and by promoting EMS, attempt to lure in more suckers to buy Desteni products, many of which are recordings of Sunette Spies pretending to be an 'interdimensional portal', which is the Desteni version of a New Age channeller. They take up the practice of 'self-forgiveness' and promote it and EMS as the key to 'heaven on earth'.

One of many New Age books on self-forgiveness

Techniques for self-forgiveness and forgiveness are abundant throughout New Age self-help literature. They appear in the form of sayings such as 'I, (name), forgive myself for... '.

Desteni recommend ‘writing yourself to freedom’ which means typing out endless affirmations beginning with, 'I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to…'.
Desteni material centering on this practice is a perverse re-interpretation of forgiveness or self-forgiveness as described in mass-market paperbacks by, for example, the queen of New Age self-help pop psychology, Louise Hay, which were on the Desteni recommended reading list, which has been removed from public view, as well as the 1975 so-called 'channelled' work, A Course in Miracles, and 'Conversations with God' by Neale Donald Walsch, both of which Bernard Poolman has also commented on in some detail and has admitted he was at one time immersed in.

While 'self-forgiveness' in New Age religion is supposed to be towards healing, well-being or 'self-development', and would most often be a private matter, in Desteni those who practice 'self-forgiveness' are given the illusion of self-realisation (another Eastern mystical and New Age religious concept) through writing all about themselves in detail and sharing the information with buddies in the 'Destonians' network and in public on the Internet.

The practice functions by inducing feelings of guilt as regards starvation or poverty in order to convince people they should give money to Desteni who claim they can solve poverty and starvation. Destonians have been told by Poolman that 'self-forgiveness' will 'delete the mind' and therefore somehow help bring about 'equality for all'. It seems they imagine that when they criticise themselves and reveal their perceived faults or subjective or social experiences or thoughts in public it is 'best for all' humankind and will change the world forever.

This enables the Desteni core group to ensure that recruits identify themselves with the Desteni brand name and endorse and promote it using their own intimate, personal information as testimony. The 'buddy system' enables them to monitor each other, and helps the core group to screen potential visitors to their farm, as well as to find out exactly what makes any of them tick and what makes them useful or not within the group dynamic.
In terms of cult behaviour, 'self-forgiveness' as used by Desteni is a form of confession. This is described in Robert Jay Lifton's Eight Criteria of Thought Reform as:

Sins, as defined by the group, are to be confessed either to a personal monitor or publicly to the group. There is no confidentiality; members' 'sins,' 'attitudes,' and 'faults' are discussed and exploited by the leaders.

Almost all sects, cults or new religious movements utilise forms of confession as modes of control, and it is common knowledge that many of them also operate front organisations and exploit loopholes for cash by setting up 'non-profit' companies.

Desteni's Equal Life Foundation is such a company...

Equal Money System Final Solution: Eugenics

It may come as a surprise to some, but according to Desteni and the Destonians, the implementation of their Equal Money System 'final solution' would entail a revival of the pseudo-science of eugenics.

One Destonian recommends it in a recent blog post entitled 2012: Eugenics is Evil or Best for All?

Another writes about it in more detail in Eugenics is Best for All Life in Equality to which there is a point-by-point response at Destenigossip. Here's an extract from Marlen and eugenics - a disgusted review beginning with a quote from Destonian, Marlen Vargas Del Razo:

„Being blind, deaf, mentally ill, down syndrome and having any other congenital severe disorder that tampers the ability to live here are aspects that we would not want to live in/as placing ourselves in the shoes of someone that experiences such conditions for life.“

I call utter bullshit on that one. Someone‘s life is unbearable just because they‘re deaf or blind? Does she know anyone with such defects? Have they all told her how they wish they had never been born?
She should pray that no one of the blind and deaf community ever gets to hear about this. She just declared a large part of the worlds population, most of which are more useful members of society than she is, as practically ‚not worth living‘. This audacity is nothing but revolting. And that from a person who has neither been blind or deaf for a day in her life. One must assume though that if an accident should render her so, she‘d jump off a bridge the very instant. We shall remind her of it should that ever be the case.
Aside from that: People with downs are often the most happy, life-enjoying, self-expressing creatures. The only issue is with other people: They have to be taken care of, are an inconvenience. They are a burden, require time, energy, money, a special effort, just like other disabled people do. The problem is not with them, the problem is with those members of society who‘d rather pursue their own self-interest instead of taking care of another. Marlen has clearly positioned herself in this regard.

„Therefore if we see the common sense of preventing its propagation and actual correction then why not supporting eugenics? It’s a definitive crime to allow beings to come into this world with such caps to actually live.“

People with caps? Are you the fashion police now?
But we all know what she actually meant, despite her admittedly rather weird slang.
Again, denying disabled people the right to live. How about lazy bastards who could very well work and take care of themselves but instead waste their time blogging about their insignificant problems and leech off of others in an online money scheme? What is the difference between a paralysed or mentally disabled person and one who chooses not to lift a finger and train themselves to be so stupid they can be called nothing else but ‚retarded‘? One is lead to think that the second is infinitely worse, considering that they used their own free will to intentionally become a burden to society.

„The fact that eugenics is usually satanized through linking it with other ‘evil avatars’ such as Hitler is an example of how indoctrinated we are to not see the common sense that eugenics proposes.“

Hitler did exactly what ‚eugenics‘ suggested. It means ‚weeding out‘, ‚removing what you deem less‘, killing off what is in your opinion less than you. The Nazi regime went all the way and implemented concentration camps, they also force-sterilised people. When confronted with the inevitable ‚final solution‘, people realised that eugenics actually meant mass murder. There is no other way to put it. You can cut this bs about ‚evil avatars‘ like it is all some big misunderstanding. If genocide through euthanasia is what you mean with ‚common sense‘, just have the balls to say it. Don‘t be sure though that Bernard spares Latinos once it comes to it.

Despite all their 'equality' slogans, Marlen Vargas Del Razo, the author of Eugenics is Best for All Life in Equality and other Destonians, have no real concept of the principle of equality.

Del Razo suggests that 'equality' means that not only should disabled people be denied a right to live but also that in her view 'certain races' have brought about 'the current inequality we have' and should be prevented from procreating. That is, 'certain races' ought to be sterilised on the grounds that they are deemed by Destonians to be 'unequal'.

Desteni Hoax Theory

Desteni Hoax Theory: the Desteni 'tools' make some people feel so inferior that they resort to perpetrating hoaxes

On a new page at http://desteni.org/cult the Desteni group attempt to address criticism. Expressing a point of view is of course not the same as perpetrating a hoax but Desteni put forward the theory that expressing the point of view that Desteni is a cult is the same as creating a 'hoax'.

They go on to state that anyone criticising Desteni is spreading hate and lies as a reaction to experiencing themselves as 'inferior' to 'the tools' of Desteni. This seems to slightly contradict their previous idea that people who say Desteni is a cult are perpetrating a 'hoax'.

Hoaxers know what they are doing. Hoaxing is a conscious act. Whereas, someone who reacts and lashes out against something because they feel inferior to it is acting without awareness of what they are doing.

Then again, if we assume that both things are true then Desteni are proposing that the reason why so many people are critical of Desteni is because they have decided to tell lies in order to compensate for their conscious feelings of inferiority in relation to the 'tools' of Desteni. But in that case, surely when so many people react in such a manner, and so many more just ignore the Desteni 'message' then this must be a result of the way Desteni communicate their ideas?

One of the headings at http://desteni.org/cult is 'Deceptive information about Desteni buzzwords'. This suggests that they intend to describe deceptive information to do with Desteni buzzwords but actually that's not what it's supposed to mean. It's just badly worded.

The reasons why Desteni is deceptive, fraudulent, a scam and a cult has been explained several times over by numerous different people from various backgrounds and at a whole range of different venues, including the Cult Education Forum where there are over a hundred pages of discussion on the subject.

As for the idea that Destonians are 'communists', this perception arises from the fact that the way they present 'Equal Money System' is such that it comes across as a blueprint for a totalitarian state a bit like, for example, Soviet Russia. However, Destonians don't really have any genuine political ideas at all, apart from their vague and incoherent fantasies about what it would be like if Desteni ruled the world.

Desteni I Process is Multi-Level Marketing, which is not much different to a pyramid scheme. Destonians themselves have described DIP as MLM (see: http://www.mlmwatch.org for more info on MLM and pyramid schemes).

Under the heading, 'How to identify deceptive information', they state: 'Apply critical thinking and common sense while evaluating the information presented'. Needless to say, the claims made by Desteni that human beings were 'designed' by reptilians, or that a Desteni 'Equal Life Party' is going to be voted in by the people to run a one-world government that is 'best for all' are irrational, false and utterly ridiculous. Such ideas defy common sense and are devoid of any of the concepts or principles of critical thinking.

They state: 'always check the source of the information in question'. The best and most reliable sources of information that prove Desteni is a scam and a cult are desteni.org and associated websites, but as stated in our disclaimer, editors of this blog encourage readers to do their own research and cross-referencing.

As well as perpetrating a 'hoax', and telling lies because they feel 'inferior', Desteni also have another unexplained theory that critics of Desteni are running 'scams'. This is even more silly, not least because there is no evidence whatsoever that anyone who has ever criticised Desteni has done so in order to try to con anyone else to part with their money.

Does Desteni Equality = Equality?

Ivan Rauscher

According to Desteni, 'equality' means no diversity, no tolerance, no free speech, no belief, no emotions, feelings or thoughts. It also involves becoming at one with inanimate objects. Under the heading, Equality and Oneness at wiki.destonians.com, Destonians recommend that the reader should watch videos of Sunette Spies being a camera lens, a pillow, a panty liner, a gas pump etc in order to gain a

perspective in understanding that that which exist, even the very keyboard you type upon – is no different to you, and thus it is to establish oneness and equality within and as all that exist within and as you as ‘who you are’ here in every moment of breath

Destonian, Joe Kou has not missed this essential part of the teachings of Destonianism. At his 'Bringing Forth World Equality' blog, Kou asks Are Rocks Life? Are Rocks as Important as Humans?...

If we actually care that much about surviving, then we need to get busy considering what actually is keeping us alive here right now. Which is this planet and nature. Without these functioning properly and being utilized effectively, the human cannot exist. Thus the human is no better than the animals, nature, even rocks. Have a look around and see if there is any concrete nearby, there is probably some in your house somewhere, or a building nearby. What’s concrete made of? Crushed rocks. It’s used in many homes as an effective building material for humans to live in. The home I live in now is constructed mostly from concrete. And the very ground we walk on has rock as in its structure. It’s used within roads to transport goods and materials that we utilize. Some animals even require to eat small rocks to aid with their digestion, like chickens, and those animals play an important part in our food chain.

While they are busy considering themselves as equal in status to inanimate objects, some persons utilising the Desteni material also seem to be under the impression that Desteni is the only group of people in the history of the world ever to have considered equality itself. They seem to be of the view that no group except Desteni discusses the flaws of the prevailing economic system. At his blog, 'Equality can be a reality - Socio-economic perspective on practical equality available through an Equal Money System', Larys Kaziukonis writes in 2012: Flaws in the design of our economic system - unemployment:

This might be just a first part of a series of blogs about the flaws in the very design of the economic system (we’ll see about that in the future). I find it relevant to write about it, because I notice that flaws that are in the very design of the system, are not tackled, challenged, discussed, and because of that they are not being properly understood or considered. Those things seems to be perceived and accepted as ‘beyond’ change, and seems to be forgotten, even though they are present and influence our lives everyday, constantly.
If indeed Destonians are tackling the issues of equality or inequality, then one might expect them to be reading the latest books on the subject and discussing them in earnest. However, at the Introduction to Desteni forum, under the heading of Music, Documentaries, Books for Equality there are no discussions about books, not even their own.

At their Equal Money System forum under Book Reviews & Recommended Reading there is some cut and pasted information about a very few books, but no discussion. There is a Recommended Reading List but again, no discussion about its contents.

Thousands of new books that are in favour of equality are being published all the time. It would seem reasonable that Desteni might try to forge alliances with the people writing them, but they don't.

Destonians say that challenging inequality or capitalism by taking part in any protest, charity or activism is useless. Instead they want people to flood the Internet with blogs and videos denouncing capitalism and promoting Desteni, which is a for-profit capitalist business. Even though they say that that protesting on the streets against capitalism achieves nothing, they appear to be of the view that protesting against capitalism on the Internet does achieve something.

As everyone knows, there are numerous political parties, individuals and groups that campaign for equal rights, and represent equality as a principle. The only such organisation Desteni appears to support is the Basic Income Grant Coalition, even though that campaign involves activism, to which they are opposed, and as far as we can tell, none of them are involved in it.

Destonians suggest that the only possible way forward for equality is by supporting their political party, 'Equal Life Party', but 'Equal Life Party' does not actually exist and there is no evidence that they are forming any such political party. They are more preoccupied with publishing affirmations or confessions in the form of sentences beginning, 'I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to...' -- a practice they call 'self-forgiveness'. This is what they see as a key factor in bringing about world equality.

In one of his speeches, How Does Self-Forgiveness Work, and How Do I Know When My Self-Forgiveness Is Effective? Desteni founding member, Bernard Poolman says:

If you are focusing your attention on helping humans, you are missing the point. The point is to establish a system of equality that place the humans in the point where they will not abuse the plants and the animals, which is equal money. Equal money is not there to help the human. The human is in essence really something that cannot be trusted and must be eradicated at all costs.

Destonians' version of equality involves regarding other human beings as brainwashed, demon-possessed organic robots that need to use 'tools' of 'self-purification' and 'self-forgiveness'.

Desteni does not, as might be imagined, represent a humanitarian philosophy, and although their references to 'equality' could suggest that they have an egalitarian social and political message, in the fields of social justice, economics, politics, political philosophy or human rights the Desteni version of 'equality' would not ever be taken seriously. Their general ideas as communicated in, for example, the video quoted above or others such as Desteni Secrets Revealed would to most people not make any rational sense. More specifically, their ideas about equality either bear no relation to it or they contradict the meaning and use of the word as it pertains to social issues or political philosophy.

Their 'equal money system' new age of 'equality and oneness' is inspired by channellings, or as they prefer to call them, 'interdimensional portal messages'. Desteni are more akin to similar such groups, like the Imzaia Movement or Share International than to any social or political movement for equality. However, unlike these groups, Desteni have an extremely limited and obscure way of promoting their ideas, where they do not hold public meetings, they confine their activities to the Internet and invite only a few select members to their farm.

Being a Destonian and supporting 'equal money system' is about regarding Desteni as the only worthwhile group on the planet and modifying personal behaviour by attending to theories and practices to do with reptilians, being a portal, 'heaven on earth', Atlanteans, Destonians having sex with one another, channeling, astral projection, interdimensional contact with dead people, 'self-forgiveness', demon possession, 'mind consciousness systems', deprogramming oneself from Annunaki mind control, etc. As well as becoming 'equal' to inert physical objects.

There is of course a case for saying that everyone on the planet has a basic human right to equality, to food, clothing, shelter and a guaranteed income, but the Desteni equal money system is not it.

Response to LLCraver on the Real Equal Money System

XfinksX
(as posted at the Cult Education Forum)

Hunter-gatherers

LLCraver on the Real EMS:

which is in regards to the absurdity of using such words as ‘level of equality’ in one statement, as commonsensically, that does not mathematically compute. Why? Because equality does not have ‘levels’ but is absolute in expression – equal is equal, simple as that – a mathematical equation cannot have ‘different levels of answers’ to the equation. No – that which is on either side of the = must be equal (ex: 1+1=2, 2=2). (http://equalmoney.org/2012/03/response-to-desteni-cult-blog-the-real-equal-money-system)

I’m sorry Miss Craver but there are degrees of equality in societies – even your run of the mill anthropologist will acknowledge this. Now, if you’re saying that equality doesn’t exist unless it fits into the perfect ideal you have, then that is your viewpoint. I think most people will agree that there is a difference in equality from a society like Ancient Rome and one such as the modern USA. Also, societies are complex creatures. You can’t just plug in 1+1 and expect it to work like you want it. This is why social sciences are considered soft and why physical sciences are considered hard or rather precise.

The argument that there was at some point ‘Egalitarian societies’ is simply not true, and even ‘xfinksx’ noted this when he stated: “While not all Hunter Gatherer and Tribal societies were thoroughly egalitarian…” – yeah, however – not only were ‘not all Hunter Gatherer and Tribal societies thoroughly egalitarian’ – but NONE of them were.

Miss Craver, my point is that those primitive societies approach a level of equality in practice that outshines most other societies including Desteni which is a top down organization. Just look at which direction most of the money flows in your group – which is described in the EMS overview with the funny little potatohead pictures on the Desteni iProcess site. Who is at the center? It isn’t you nor Spamann. I’ll give you hint: It is at the farm. But, what was wrong with those societies in the past that didn’t make them truly equal? Well for the most part, this was the problem:

http://www.mesacc.edu/dept/d10/asb/anthro2003/glues/societyintro.html

Quote:
Egalitarian societal members tend to treat each other as equals. Wealth differences are few as is the amount of power available to any individual or group. The people possess norms that emphasize sharing and ideals of interpersonal equality. This is not to say that stratification is non-existent in these societies. In comparison with nonegalitarian societies, however, stratification is relatively insignificant. Even when someone like a bigman is present, prestige is important and linked to redistribution. However, the bigman gives more than he receives as his role as a redistributor is defined. If he hordes or possesses too much, he will lose the recognition as a bigman. In effect, he is a member of society as an equal who has a defined role that carries prestige but not wealth and recognition but not status.

Now, who at the Desteni farm acts like a Big Man in regards to wealth? Somehow I think he gets more than he gives back. Therefore, the Big Men in those primitive societies are way cooler than Mr. Monster Mash.

Talk about ‘vagueness’ – here, ‘xfinksx’ is making elusive statements, basically punching at the air, with no substance or insight into what he is in fact expressing. He basically is making a statement with no practical significance, as it shows no point of understanding or moreover offers no solution to the problem of inequality.

You know it looks like you just want to call what I’m saying as vague because you’re pissed off that I called your sparkly little meme-toy vague. But whatever, It isn’t vague Miss Craver. It is called ownership of resources. The person or people who own the resources dictate the laws and thereby how wealth is acquired and maintained. You can have all the money you want, but money has no real power by itself. Implementing your EMS will not change where certain resources are located nor would it stop people from trying to horde possessions (here’s a secret: people don’t just horde things for reasons of scarcity). Never will everyone on earth agree to become Desteni tool slave willingly. And unless everyone isn’t mind controlled your EMS won’t ever work period! Now as for solutions and potential realistic alternatives, they are out there – you just don’t bother to look or take the time to understand them. But, they have nothing to do with Desteni pipe dreams, money schemes, self-writing, self-forgiveness, talking to the dead, or ignoring the BS claim that Desteni messages came from some supernatural source.

Equal Money System, political agenda of a cult

Ivan Rauscher

[note: Since July 2013, Desteni's Equal Money System has been superseded by Living Income Guaranteed.]

Desteni video descriptions state ‘The Equal Money system will be a first step in the political agenda of the Equal Life Party worldwide once we start participating in democratic elections.’

There is no Equal Life Party. Apparently to get the ‘equal money system’ (EMS) started, unpaid volunteers make promotional webpages, but avoid publicising EMS any further afield. Except for Facebook and YouTube, they refuse to spread their message via the mainstream or alternative media, and they do not hold public meetings.

Donations are solicited on the Desteni website to help them ‘get into politics and government
’, yet they denounce charity as evil. They are opposed to capitalism but run a Multi-Level-Marketing scheme. They call EMS radical freedom but say freedom of expression leads to abuse. EMS is envisaged as coming into being after the Basic Income Grant (BIG) campaign has been proven successful world-wide, yet Desteni are not involved in the BIG campaign. They say they want to get into government by democratic means because they don't trust humanity.

Blogs and videos using the EMS slogan reiterate the well-known idea that inequality, crime, poverty and starvation are often related to the divide between rich and poor. They depict an imaginary society where equality is re-defined by Desteni. The global administration of the EMS is said to be able to provide a life-long guaranteed income for each citizen. It is supposed to micro-chip and monitor humans against abuse, negate all forms of trade and the need for individuals to have to work for more than four years.

It is said
EMS will be the result of at least 50% of citizens voting for ‘Equal Life Party’ in global democratic elections that will miraculously take place after the collapse of capitalism. How supporters of EMS, called the Destonians know this is not explained, but it is in keeping with a view they have of themselves as possessing all-knowing power and knowledge, as displayed on their Equalitee t-shirts where they name themselves after super-hero comic book characters, the Guardians of the Universe.

To the Destonians, the rest of the population are all poor unfortunate brainwashed victims of consumer capitalism and need to be told what is ‘best for all’. They depict non-Destonians as afraid of equality and ‘protecting the current system of abuse’. The Destonians have no conception of political or social ideas beyond the EMS but want to dictate how the whole world should be policed as one all-encompassing authoritarian system. As bizarre as it seems, they describe global implementation of their EMS as not only the inevitable future of the world, but run by the people for the people in strict accordance with information published by the Desteni group of South Africa.

No independent source has ever cited
EMS as a worthwhile political idea. The reputation it has is that it is a scam. Almost everyone who's heard of it can see it's a scam, except for some reason the Destonians. But that's the way of cults. Desteni is widely regarded as a potentially destructive cult with anti-democratic policies, a ridiculous, nonsensical philosophy and a very amateur mode of presentation.

Their Faceworldfaceoff campaign, said to ‘actually have an Effect in the World that will have an Economic Effect on the Corpus of the Economic Structure of the World
’ and with the purpose of convincing at least 100 million people to shave their heads ‘for equality’ has fizzled out. And despite having released several 1000s of videos and reams of written material since 2007, Desteni still has no more than around 100 active participants world-wide.

The group is described as exploring principles of equality and oneness but is blatantly sectarian. EMS is against free choice, privacy, freedom of speech and information, and opposed to trade and commerce. EMS would be a one-party rule, which would mean no democracy. It is as though the Destonians are nationalists defending the purity of the virtual totalitarian nation-state of Destonia.

They say critics of
EMS have not ‘done the research’, even when it is clear they have researched EMS and Desteni, and even if they state they do not support capitalism. The Destonians claim if someone disagrees with EMS then it is because EMS is a ‘threat to the current system’. There is no evidence of EMS having threatened anyone's financial or personal security, or any corporate consumer interests whatsoever.

Despite the fact that equality as a principle is meant to be applied without pre-conditions as a basic democratic human right, the Destonians say the only way anyone can prove themselves worthy of equality is by utilising ‘the tools’ of Desteni-branded media. Yet the principle of equality is an established part of developing ongoing social, legal and political situations and everyone is supposed to be worthy of it regardless. That is the whole idea of equality.

But the Destonians regard all human beings as evil and possessed by ‘mind demons’.
In discussing what would be the outcome if you do not support EMS, they suggest that to avoid having to go through the hassle of an intervention by psychology professionals to have you rehabilitated for not co-operating with EMS in the future, then for your own sake you should investigate EMS now. When the Destonians recommend people ‘investigate EMS’ what they mean is: read the material, watch the videos and join Desteni.

The actual premise for EMS in the first place is Bernard Poolman's stories about how he encountered demons, famous dead people and other entities in dimensions of ‘mind consciousness systems’ designed by ‘a race of beings called the Annunaki’ that also happened to have designed human beings. With the help of Poolman's chosen Portal, heaven was purified, so it is now time to bring the purified heaven to earth with EMS and make everyone a millionaire.

The stated aim of all Desteni-oriented activities is to dedicate one's life to deleting ‘the mind’ through ‘self-forgiveness’. That is what they say will bring about world equality and the ‘heaven on earth’ of EMS. The implementation of the political agenda of the Desteni group ‘as it currently exist’ involves selling holidays and the online promotion and sale of products inspired by Bernard Poolman’s demented fantasies.

Equal Money System: spreading the FAQ?

Ivan Rauscher

[note: Since July 2013, Desteni's Equal Money System has been superseded by Living Income Guaranteed.]

In one of his videos on 'equal money system' (EMS), called Media and spreading the message of equality - Equal Money FAQ, Bernard Poolman says Desteni don't 'use the media like television' because they can't afford it. As if they'd have to pay for advertising airtime. Social and political campaigns are given free airtime on the radio and TV every day of the week. None of it costs them any money whatsoever. And they have articles written about them in newspapers and magazines.

Sending out a press release costs nothing. If EMS can bring about 'equality for all', why aren't Desteni approaching the radio, TV and print news media to spread their message? They could hold a press conference. Members of Desteni could also promote EMS through the alternative media, for example, indymedia, Democracy Now! or AlterNet. There are hundreds more such outlets for free discussion, specifically on the issues of equality. All of them could be informed of EMS.

Why don't they try to gain support from well-known critics of social inequality, such as Max Keiser, Michael Moore or Naomi Klein? They could contact Richard Wilkinson and Kate Pickett, co-founders of The Equality Trust and authors of The Spirit Level: Why Equality is Better for Everyone.

If Desteni are standing up for world equality, why don't they speak with the public face-to-face, in the street or door-to-door? Why not hold public meetings or lectures? Why not take the idea of EMS to political parties or governments to gain their support? Why don't Desteni host a book launch to promote their series of Equal Money books and get reviewed on Amazon or by political bloggers or in any other publications? All these things can be done with very little or no money.

But the Desteni core group in South Africa are not interested in getting involved in politics or changing society. They do not want to communicate with the mainstream or alternative media, the general public or with governments. They do not wish to co-operate, discuss or debate with any other groups or individuals concerned with issues of equality. They just want people to send them money.

Destonians are selling their wares, apparently as a form of online entertainment. They are v-logging and blogging about their personal lives and 'self-forgiveness'. In supposedly answering Frequently Asked Questions about EMS, they present fantasies about an imaginary future world. Any outsider who asks questions without agreeing with them is banned (they have banned well over 2000 YouTube channels). They try to discuss news items only to say: 'join Desteni'. They indulge in self-help mumbo jumbo which claims to be an antidote to the failures of capitalism, but in doing so they are only supporting the social capitalistic status quo.

They are promoting EMS to sell the Desteni I Process, which they describe as a 'lifestyle product' for 'self-development' and 'leadership'. They offer affiliate programs and commissions. That is internet sales, business as usual in capitalism. But they lack ambition. They confine themselves to a small corner of the internet, where they carry out an obscure marketing strategy which goes no further than targeting potential passive consumers on YouTube, Facebook and their own web forums.

Desteni are deliberately avoiding spreading their so-called 'message of equality'. They don't want to speak to the press. They don't want a wider audience. This is because Bernard Poolman is fully aware that the Desteni Equal Money System is an obvious scam and therefore he has to make sure it remains under the radar as much as possible.

The Desteni group has been exposed several times over as a dangerous cult by newspaper journalists, ex-Scientologists, atheists, ex-Jehovah's Witnesses, Christians, skeptics, members of the Zeitgeist Movement and the Anonymous group, comedians, Marxists, anti-Communists, anti-fascists, New Agers, YouTubers, anarchists, conspiracy theorists, free market libertarians, critics of conspiracy theories, cult experts; all kinds of social, spiritual or political commentators and the general public. They have been rejected by Wikipedia, violated copyright of Apple Inc, and banned by the web hosting company, Hetzner, as well as both YouTube and Vimeo. Any doubts or questions as to Desteni being a cult and its 'equal money system' a scam have already been resolved.

Bernard Poolman knows that if Equal Money System and the real questions surrounding it are publicised any more than at present, then his Desteni gang will risk further exposure as a money-grabbing, destructive cult, and much more than ever before, by people with far greater influence than any of their previous critics. He can't afford that.

And Pharaoh said to Moses

republicofsandles

Bernard Poolman likened the initials MLM to his own ego-centric phrase "me loving me."
